srainess--consider this before opting for a taller backrest. Speaking from experience, a taller backrest is great if all you intend to do is hang a bag on it. If, on the other hand you are considering it for passenger safety/comfort be advised it becomes less comfortable not more so. Let me explain--- the Savage is a relarively light bike with a short wheelbase compared to a full blown touring bike. This means if you can visualize this the back of the bike is jarred up and down pretty dramatically. A short backrest will just push the passenger. A taller backrest will literally slam the back of your fair love. If your intention is to get her to quit asking to ride with you, you have the ticket. If you want her to ride, leave well enough alone!
